When a hurricane protection product is brought to market, it must go through certain steps to ensure its
acceptance into that specified market. Each product must be scientifically tested to prove that it meets a
particular performance standard for the location of its intended use. Building code approval agencies are
in place to set, test and monitor these standards as they apply to the specific area.
